Midweek Adult Groups

Holy Cross offers many educational opportunities, both Sundays and midweek, designed to strengthen the faith of individuals and families. These midweek groups provide a place at Holy Cross where you can grow in your relationship and knowledge of our Lord and Savior.

LifeLight classes are offered twice each calendar year:  one class begins in early January and the second begins in early September.

Classes may focus on a specific book of the Bible, one aspect of the overall message of the Bible (e.g., prophecies of the coming Messiah, parables), individuals in the Bible (e.g., Abraham, Moses, David), or specific aspects of Christianity (e.g., baptism, communion).  LifeLight materials are produced by Concordia Publishing House, the publications arm of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and are well written and interesting.

For those who have never participated in LifeLight, it’s a 9-week Bible study with 5 daily readings and questions for individual study each week.  Classes then meet for discussion on Monday or Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. or Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.--you choose the time that meets your schedule.  Child care can be arranged if needed; please speak with Kathy Brock if you need child care to participate in LifeLight.

Our winter LifeLight class begins January 9, 10, and 11 with a foundational study titled “The Christian’s Mission.”  LifeLight Bible Study is open to all members and friends of Holy Cross.  Classes will meet on Mondays at 7 p.m., Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m., and Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

Over the nine-week study, students will learn to GET Christ’s Forgiveness, GROW in knowing Christ, GLOW with Christ’s love, and GO tell the Good News.  As the study illustrates, the Holy Spirit works through the Word of Scripture and scriptural preaching to restore God’s creation back to Himself by His grace.  God’s mission is the Church’s mission, and the Church’s mission is the Christian’s mission.

Come study God’s Word and allow His light to flood your life.  LifeLight provides a great opportunity to benefit from daily Bible study and the privilege of joining brothers and sisters in Christ in fellowship around the Word.

Registration forms are in the narthex on the round table; please leave your completed registration in the nearby basket and pick up a copy of the book to prepare for the first class.

He carried Christianity to the known world and wrote two- thirds of the books of the New Testament.

We are currently walking in the footprints of the apostle Paul, following his life and learning from his faith. This study is taking us through the book of Acts and great discussion over Paul’s letters. Join us any week—or every week. It’s a great opportunity to grow!

Men, bring your Bible and join us for early-morning coffee and discussion of God’s Word.
