40 Days for Life in Spokane begins September 23 The City-Wide Effort is Being Directed by Kathryn Amdahl

For 40 days it rained while Noah and his family were prayerfully shut up in the ark of God’s salvation. For 40 days Moses stood in God’s presence on Mt. Sinai after Israel was saved from Egypt. For 40 days Elijah traveled to that same mountain to speak with God when he had all but given up on God’s saving power. Jesus spent 40 prayerful days in the wilderness as he started his ministry of salvation for us. He also ended his ministry with 40 days of appearances to his disciples teaching them about his salvation after his resurrection from the dead. Will you spend 40 days praying for God’s saving work? 40 Days for Life is a prayerful campaign inviting Christians to intentionally spend each day for 40 days praying for the unborn children who are at risk of abortion, for mothers and fathers who - fearing they had no other viable options - have aborted their babies and are now dealing with the heartache that ensues, and for the will of our nation to begin to recognize every life - even the unborn - as a gift given by God. In addition to personal prayers, 40 Days for Life invites participants to sign up for a time slot to pray on the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in Spokane. This is a quiet prayerful vigil. It involves no sign waving or protesting. It is simply a one hour time slot to show up and pray. In years past former Holy Cross worshippers John & Lynn Weingarten directed the efforts for Spokane. This year's city-wide campaign is being directed by our very own Kathryn Amdahl. She has become quite a leader in the movement for life in Spokane. Keep her in your prayers as she leads this vital, prayerful, campaign. To participate go to go to 40daysforlife.com and look under the locations tab for the Spokane vigil location, or contact Kathryn directly
